Errors/Inconsistencies[]
- When Louis first meets Gus and Mey-Mey, he doesn't recognize them, and they explain that they are not well-known because their segment is on at 4:00am, and thus their demographic are truckers and hookers who are awake during that time. However, later on in the episode, Evan is said to be a regular watcher of the segment, as well as a fan, and the show is shown three times airing during daytime, with Louis being interviewed twice during the day while Jessica and Evan watch the program live in the evening.
Quotes[]
Jessica: You're supposed to go out there and promote the restaurant, not make a fool out of yourself. Louis: [as Arnold Jackson] Whatchu talkin' 'bout, woman? You love my impressions. [Normal voice] That was Arnold. Jessica: Not on television. Louis: What's the difference? Jessica: Name one Chinese person on TV. Louis: Pat Morita. Jessica: Japanese, and you know it. Louis: What's your point? Jessica: We don't get opportunities to be on TV. That's why when we do, we need to present our best face. Not clown around, like you did today. Louis: They loved me. Jessica: You know what it reminded me of? Your favorite character. Louis: No. Jessica: From Sixteen Candles. Louis: Don't say it. Jessica: Long... Duk... Dong. The Chinese guy in that movie became what everybody thought all Chinese people were. He made people think that was okay. That's why when we get opportunities like this, it matters. |
Eddie: So, Alison pushed us all in the mosh pit, but were those pushes platonic or passionate? Evidence is inconclusive. Brian: Who are you, woman? Trent: Well, at least we know who you're dating, Walter. Walter: What do you mean? Trent: Well, you know... [glances at the photo of a black girl] I'm just saying... It's the south. Walter: That's messed up, man. I mean, Edith is the one I like, but it's unrelated. |
Mey-Mey: Well, we finally have an answer to that question everyone's been asking – why doesn't anybody move the damn thing? Apparently, human touch would render the endangered tortoise infertile. Mindy: Maybe that tortoise should try being an unmarried woman over 40. |
Mey-Mey: Louis, you were cracking us up the other day with your impressions. Louis: Well, you know, I'm glad I exist to entertain you. Mey-Mey: So, do you do Bill Cosby? I love him. Gus: Me too. America's moral compass. |
Emery: Did you figure out your "big-kids business"? What's wrong? Eddie: I screwed things up with Alison. I really liked her, and I don't know what to do. Emery: Have you tried talking to her? Eddie: No. Emery: Why not? Eddie: Well, 'cause I don't think that's how they do things in seventh grade. Emery: How's that working for you? |
Emery: The number-one dating rule is to listen to a woman. Trent: [taking notes] "Listen... to... her." Brian: What if what she's saying is, uh... boring? Emery: You should still be listening to her. Walter: Even if she's talking about horses? Emery: Especially when she's talking about horses. |
